Microdermabrasion: The OG Glow Treatment That Still Delivers

New treatments launch constantly. Microdermabrasion just keeps quietly working. If your skin looks congested, dull, or generally like it needs to be reset — this is the one.

What It Is

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive exfoliation treatment that uses a specialized device to gently remove dead skin cells while stimulating circulation and collagen production. We use fine crystals or a diamond-tipped applicator to resurface the outer layer of skin.

What It Targets

  • Uneven texture
  • Mild pigmentation
  • Fine lines
  • The appearance of enlarged pores
  • Dull or congested skin

That last one is the sleeper. A lot of people assume their skin problem is complicated when it's really just months of buildup sitting on the surface. Resurface it and everything underneath — tone, texture, glow — gets a fair shot.

The Session

Thirty to forty-five minutes. Most clients describe the sensation as light scraping or brushing, and it's generally painless enough that numbing cream isn't typically needed. You may have mild redness immediately after, which usually settles within a few hours.

No downtime. You can go back to your day right away — just follow the aftercare instructions we give you.

Microdermabrasion or Dermaplaning?

Fair question, since they overlap. Dermaplaning uses a sterile blade and also removes peach fuzz — great when you want a flawless makeup base. Microdermabrasion uses a device to resurface with crystals or a diamond tip and works a bit differently on texture, pores, and congestion.

Neither is objectively better. It depends on your skin and what's bothering you, which is genuinely what the consultation sorts out. Some clients alternate between them across the year.

How Often

Results are typically immediate — many people notice smoother, brighter skin right after their session. The effects usually last about three to four weeks, tracking your natural cell turnover. For sustained results, every four to six weeks is the usual rhythm, and a course of treatments may be recommended for optimal results.

Who It's Good For

It suits a wide range of skin types and is especially useful if you're dealing with dullness, want fine lines to soften, or want your skincare to actually penetrate instead of sitting on top. It's often a good option for those seeking a chemical-free exfoliation method, including people with sensitive skin or who are pregnant.

It may not be appropriate for active acne, rosacea, or highly sensitive skin — which is why we consult first rather than just booking you in.

Aftercare

Freshly exfoliated skin needs protection. Avoid direct sun exposure and wear broad-spectrum sunscreen daily. Side effects are generally minimal and short-lived — temporary redness, dryness, or slight irritation.
