IV Hydration Therapy: What a Session Actually Involves

IV drips went from hospital-only to wellness-menu staple fast. Here's a grounded look at what they are and what they aren't — administered, in our case, by registered nurses.

What It Is

IV Hydration Therapy, also called IV Drip Therapy, delivers fluids enriched with electrolytes, minerals, vitamins, and other nutrients directly into the bloodstream through an intravenous line. This method may allow for quicker and more efficient absorption, potentially supporting hydration, energy levels, immune support, and overall well-being.

Worth saying plainly: effectiveness varies from person to person, and this is a wellness support, not a treatment for medical conditions.

Why Bypassing Digestion Matters

Oral supplements pass through the digestive system, where absorption rates vary — potentially reducing how much actually reaches your bloodstream. IV therapy bypasses digestion entirely, delivering nutrients directly, which may lead to more efficient delivery for some individuals.

Individual absorption rates and efficacy still vary. A consultation is how you find out whether this makes sense for you specifically.

The Session

We insert a small IV line into a vein, typically in your arm, connected to a saline bag containing a customized blend of nutrients, vitamins, and electrolytes selected for your needs.

Most people report little to no pain on placement. The infusion typically takes 30 to 90 minutes depending on the combination selected. During that time you can relax, read, scroll, or nap — most people nap. Afterward, most return to normal activities without downtime.

Which Drip?

Our IV treatments are personalized to your health and wellness goals. At consultation we assess your specific needs and recommend a formulation suited to what you're after — recovery, general wellness, or beauty-focused support.

How Often

Frequency should be tailored to your individual health status and goals. Some people receive IV therapy as often as weekly, but that's a decision to make with a healthcare provider rather than a default. Your practitioner will build a schedule around your actual needs.

Can You Go Back to Your Day?

Most people resume normal activities — work, exercise, social plans — immediately after a session. Individual experiences vary, so raise any concerns at consultation.

Who Should Talk to Us First

IV Hydration Therapy isn't suitable for everyone. Possible side effects include vein irritation, bruising at the injection site, or allergic reactions. If you have existing health conditions, take regular medications, or are unsure whether this is appropriate for you, that conversation comes before the drip — always.
